Meet Mary!

Dr. Mary Conage enjoyed a 33-year career with the Pinellas County School District in Florida. Her professional journey includes 13 years as a classroom teacher, prior to serving as an instructional coach, curriculum supervisor, Title I Director, and Special Projects Director. In every role, her primary goal was to facilitate conditions for learning that lead to student agency and high academic achievement. Her doctoral studies at the University of Florida focused on culturally responsive pedagogy, which led her to develop and present related professional development sessions for educators. Dr. Conage has presented at a number of conferences, including Learning Forward, ASCD, and the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics. In addition, she has engaged with school and district staff across the country to support their work with elevating equity. In her retirement, Dr. Conage continues to share her knowledge and passion for equity through professional development and coaching.
